Dr. Marco is the Founder and Director of Stonington Natural Health Center.  Dr. Marco became interested in Acupuncture due to her background in psychobiology and the mind-body connection.  She brings her expertise to us from the prestigious Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where she received a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine after earning her Bachelors Degree in Neuroscience from the distinguished Bowdoin College.

She enjoys helping her patients with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Patients receive relief for a variety of health concerns including pain, stress, hypertension, PMS, fertility, menopause, and sports and other injuries.  Dr. Marco firmly believes that everyone benefits from Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as Acupuncture brings balance to the body, and all symptoms are signs of imbalance in the body, and Acupuncture reminds the body how to heal itself.  Most importantly, you do not need to "have anything wrong" to benefit from the healing benefits of Acupuncture as it rejuvenates and revitalizes your whole body.  Dr. Marco loves treating the entire family -- men, women, elders, teenagers, children and babies.

Dr. Stephanie Bethune is a licensed and board-certified naturopathic doctor.  She treats a variety of patients with acute and chronic illnesses, recommending natural therapeutics.  She incorporates the best scientific diagnostic methods available with the healing power of nature.

A native of Mystic, Connecticut, Beth is a Licensed and Accredited Practitioner.  She has received training and attended various workshops nationally and internationally in such areas as Aromatherapy, Sports Massage, Myofascial Deep Tissue Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Reflexology, Nutrition, and Reiki and Reconnective Healing.

Beth lived abroad for 10 years, as Director of a beautiful Retreat Center in Southern Spain.  She has worked with a number of celebrities so far during her career.

Specializing in Sports Massage and working with chronic pain or injuries, Beth uses deep tissue and trigger point release techniques, stretches, and gentle moves and holds depending on the needs of the client.

Currently a member of the Hands On Trade Association and the World Federation of Healing, Beth is also a Reconnection Healer and Practitioner.

Therapeutic touch...

Jillian has recently returned to the United States from Ireland, where she lived for the last 10 years.  After moving to Ireland in 2001, she became involved with the Irish Massage Therapy Association (IMTA).  As the association secretary from 2002-2004, Jillian provided assistance in bringing up the standards of education and practice, in conjunction with government working groups, and streamlining their organization.  In addition to continuing her massage practice, she taught massage classes which included anatomy & physiology, pathology, Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release and trigger point techniques, injury assessment and treatment, and business practices. 

Before moving to Ireland, Jillian hailed from Seattle, Washington.  A car accident and her own struggle with chronic pain prompted her to study massage and she graduated in 1996.  She founded Aisling Wellness Center in nearby Issaquah, Washington where she brought together a diverse group of practitioners whose focus included acupuncture, massage, osteopathy, and holistic body treatments.

The concentration of Jillian’s massage practice has always been injury assessment & treatment, client education, and prevention.  Incorporating Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, and Muscle Energy Technique (MET) she enlists clients to participate in their own recovery and well-being.

Christopher Carlow is a Licensed Acupuncturist in Connecticut and Rhode Island and is Nationally Certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine - a combined certification in Acupuncture & Chinese Herbology offered by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Dr. Chris Carlow has staff privileges at Kent County Hospital in Rhode Island. He holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from World Medicine Institute, formerly known as Tai Hsuan College, in Honolulu, Hawai'i with special training in Medical Chi Kung (Qigong) and Tai Chi Chuan (Taijiquan).  Chris also holds certifications as an Assistant Chi Kung (Qigong) Instructor by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, YMAA and as a Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi Program Instructor.

Lydia Kahn is a native of Washington, D.C. where she lived until her family moved to New Hampshire when she was nine.  She is an alumna of The White Mountain School in Bethlehem, New Hampshire and Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland where she majored in theatre.  She is married to Lt. Jeffery Kahn, USN and has two amazing step-children, Alexis and Haven and the happy owner of two great dogs Lucky and Roscoe.  She has traveled in Europe and the Middle East and enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and playing with her dogs. She is excited to be working at Stonington Natural Health Center because she believes that holistic healing is an important path to wellness that requires more value to be placed on it.
